10 Resolutions for Better Heart Health

Here are my top 10 resolutions you can make to promote better natural heart health:

  1. Eat organic foods. The single most important thing for good heart health is proper nutrition. The number one thing to proper nutrition is to eat organic foods. These are foods produced using methods of organic farming, free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers that alter food and harm our bodies. Learn how to discover if foods are really organic.
  2. Eat a low carb diet. Avoid foods with wheat, corn, soy, dairy and sugar. I recommend you follow a Paleo diet for optimum heart health.
  3. Eat wild salmon, anchovies, sardines and grass fed meat. These foods are low in calories and saturated fats but rich in proteins. They contain essential omega-3 fatty acids.
  4. Exercise. Make it fun. Do it outdoors whenever possible. Interval training promotes good cardiovascular health.
  5. Go to sleep at sundown. As the sun sets, your body naturally secrets a hormone to prepare itself for sleep. Proper rest helps you fight stress, keeps your energy levels high and provides a wide variety of other health benefits.   6. Minimize the use of electronics, especially in the bedroom. There are genuine health risks to exposure to electromagnetic radiation caused by electronic devices.  Microwaves zap food with radiation and destroy food nutrients. Light-emitting electronics in the bedroom disrupt essential sleep patterns.
